LinkHunter Extension — Privacy Policy
What the extension does
The LinkHunter Extension shows SEO information about the website you choose to check, finds directories a business can be listed on, and — for signed-in LinkHunter team members — fills directory submission forms with a client's approved business details.
Data the extension reads
- The page you check: only when you open the extension and run a check, it reads the current tab's address and on-page SEO elements (title, meta tags, headings, links, structured data). This runs in your browser.
- Domain metrics and the directory check: the website's domain is sent to linkhunter.cc to look up Domain Rating, backlinks and matching directories. Results are cached by domain.
- Autofill (team only): the form fields on the directory page you are on, to place the approved values. Nothing is submitted for you — you press the directory's own submit button.
Data stored
- Your LinkHunter access token, saved in your browser's extension storage (you can disconnect any time; revoke tokens at linkhunter.cc/extension/connect).
- On linkhunter.cc: a count of checks per day (to apply fair-use limits), the domain checked, and — for team members — the submission status and listing logins they choose to save (encrypted).
What we do not do
- We do not collect your browsing history, and nothing runs on pages until you click the extension.
- We do not sell or share data with third parties, and do not use it for advertising.
- We do not solve or bypass CAPTCHAs.
Permissions
- activeTab / scripting: to read the page you check and fill the form you are on, only after your click.
- storage: to remember your token and preferences.
- Host access to linkhunter.cc: to talk to the LinkHunter API.
