What is a local rank grid?
A rank grid runs the same Google Maps search from many points around your business, for example a 7 by 7 grid spaced 1 km apart. Each point shows where your business ranks from that spot, so you can see the neighbourhoods where you are visible and the ones where competitors win. LinkHunter stores the rank at every point, the top three results there, your average rank and your share of top-three positions.
Are the rankings real Google results?
Yes. Every grid point is a real Google Maps search for your keyword from that location, fetched from a search data provider at scan time. Results can differ slightly from what one person sees on their phone, because Google personalises results, but each scan uses the same method so the trend over time is comparable.
How often are scans run?
You choose per keyword: weekly, monthly or manual only. Scheduled scans run in the background, and you can start up to 10 manual scans a day per workspace. A scan takes roughly five seconds per grid point, so a 7 by 7 grid is usually finished within a few minutes.
Does LinkHunter guarantee better local rankings?
No. Nobody can honestly guarantee Google rankings. LinkHunter shows you where you stand, which competitors outrank you, what is missing from your Google Business Profile and website, and how your reviews are trending. The fixes are yours or our team’s to make, and the grid shows whether they worked.
How does review monitoring work?
Once you add a location, LinkHunter syncs its Google reviews daily: author, rating, text, your reply and the date. You see the rating trend, the 1 to 5 star distribution, reviews from the last 30 days and the reviews still waiting for a reply. You also get a direct Google review link to share with customers. LinkHunter never writes, buys or filters reviews.
What does the AI visibility check do?
It asks ChatGPT or Google AI Mode a local question, such as the best dentist in your city, and records whether your business is named, at what position, which other brands appear and which sources the answer cites. AI answers change often, so treat one check as a snapshot and repeat it over time.
